Burry Port Rugby Club first team broke a 20 year old record on Saturday 23 November 2013, by scoring 123 points beating the old record by 7 points.

The sad losers, Falls Bay, at the bottom of the division managed to score a consolation 3 points to avoid the total whitewash. 19 tries were scored by the winners and scrum half Scott Charlton put in a splendid afternoon's work by converting 14 of them.

Man of the match was Dylan Evans who scored three of the tries and whose speed and power play were very significant in the win.

HFT® had a large table at the event and hosted a number of friends and guests. A great night was experienced by the HFT® group at this function called The Burry Port Rugby Football Club 'Worthington Wednesday' supper.

Dr Rick O'Shea – BBC Television programme "Scrum Five" Presenter did an excellent job of comparing the event.

The social evening included Ryan Jones, Kingsley Jones and Rick O'Shea. Sponsored by Worthingtons with over 200 supporters in the local memorial Hall. Another great night with the usual celebrations!

This is an extract and summary of a piece published in our local newspaper recently:

Sam Collins, a young Burry Port father, credited Burry Port RFC with embracing his family and changing their lives for the better. He spoke highly of the team, which is currently raising funds for the side's first annual tour this year. The 32-year-old and his fiancé Jenny, who moved to the town in 2012 with their children Alesha, eight, and Aaron, 11, said it had been hugely beneficial for them all.

Burry Port Firsts, Rugby Side made it through to the next round of the South West Wales cup last weekend, with a great win over local rivals Hendy RFC. The Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® sponsored side are in in the same league as Hendy who are currently 3rd in the table.

Although Hendy took an early lead, Burry Port quickly recovered and finished the first half with a brilliant solo effort from Adam Ruddal who intercepted a loose pass on his own try line and ran the full length of the pitch evading every tackle scoring under the posts.

At the final whistle, HFT Burry Port Firsts ran out winners at 31:25.
