Enlarged Easy to Read Digital Screen
Easy to read digital screen shows the operator when it is safe to start welding ensuring a perfect welding environment for a clean weld. The new enlarged screen uses 24 mm size digits for easy viewing at longer distances from the work station. These digits are approximately 41% larger than our previous out of date model, the Mark V (MKV), which is now obsolete.
A rugged tripod mount has been integrated into the housing. This allows the Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 Weld Purge Monitor® to be firmly mounted on a tripod of your choice. Increase Weld Purge Monitor® Sensor Life Significantly
The PurgEye® 100 IP65 Weld Purge Monitor® has a unique sensor, which measures the precise oxygen level being drawn across it.
A sealed sensor is provided with the PurgEye® 100 and replacement sensors are available individually.
You may have noticed that your spare or replacement PurgEye® 100 sensors are being shipped in new packaging. The packaging is a way to increase the sensor life significantly.
The sensors are packaged inside a small, sealed compartment to prevent oxygen from entering, keeping it inert until the package is opened for use. Once a tiny amount of oxygen inside the sealed volume has been consumed, a partial vacuum has been created leaving the residual atmospheric nitrogen behind that protects the sensor.
The new packing of the PurgEye® 100 sensors ensures the average life is raised close to 20 months or more.
PurgEye® 100 Weld Purge Monitor® not only have a "low sensor" warning signal, which normal oxygen monitors do not have, but there is now a guarantee that when your replacement sensor arrives that it will last much longer than any other oxygen monitors.
Spare sensors are sold as a single unit or as multiples subject to preference.
In addition to increased life, this new sensor packaging affords an extra degree of protection to the special contacts and the sealing membrane on top.
The packaging will protect the sensor from scuffs and damage during transit and will keep it clean during storage.
Other sensors in the industry have a low long life. They start to deplete immediately after manufacture. It can then take many months before they are put into use. The average life of most other sensors is then a short 10 – 12 months.
Our PurgEye® 100 unique sensors with this unique packaging give a much longer life of 20 months or more.

The project was the CF Fertilisers Ammonia 4 2016 TAR.
Part of this project was the removal and refit of 16 Inconel 800 Reformer cones these being 6” in diameter and 1” thick. We used your PurgEye system including the flow gates and heat resistant socks in addition we also used you purgeye flowmeters.
We had to use these as we had restricted access due to a bafle plate assembly on the internal of the cones so your system was spot on for our requirements.
We put it up on our wall right away and our sales staff are trying to get our distributers to do the same thing.

I believe the PurgEye to be one of the best if not the best residual oxygen detector instruments on the market with its digital residual oxygen level LED display readouts measuring as low as 0.01 % and its large user friendly veiwing screen making it easier for me to read. I also believe the PurgEye to have a great accuracy of residual oxygen with speedy measurement's being displayed with in seconds. The PurgEye is a far cry from the old school home made "use a cigarette lighter" to check purge gas flow system.

I like the PurgEye and I do not even work for HFT. In fact I like all their Purging gear.
I can personally vouch for purge monitors. When working with medium to large diameter exotic pipework. I can personally vouch for purge monitors. When working with medium to large diameter exotic pipework, they can prevent you from having a very bad day! I've only ever used the older model and it was a godsend - Anyone, from the welder who has had to carry out weld repairs due to root weld oxidisation (or coking) on such materials, to the directors facing an expensive bill for re-work and possible tarnished company reputation, to the client with their project now running behind schedule - know exactly what I mean. Purge monitors are a necessity.

1.0 What is the intended application for the Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 Weld Purge Monitor® ?
The Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 is intended primarily for measuring oxygen levels down to 100 parts per million (ppm) when welding stainless steels and other reactive metals to prevent coking, oxidation and discoloration.
For accurate measurements below this, all of the other PurgEye® Weld Purge Monitors® measure accurately down to 10 ppm.
2.0 Is the Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 good enough for electro-polished stainless steel welding?
Weld Purge Monitors® manufactured and designed by Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® have become the world standard for measuring argon purge quality in TIG/GTAW welding of tubes, pipes, tanks and other enclosed structures.
Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 Weld Purge Monitors® show when oxygen has been removed to a level of 100 ppm and that there are no leaks or that there is no outgassing to cause oxygen to remain in the vicinity of a weld.
3.0 Why should I use a Weld Purge Monitor® ?
Materials such as stainless steels and reactive alloys will oxidise and discolour when welded in the presence of oxygen.
The Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 will measure oxygen levels as they are reduced by weld purging techniques so that you can begin welding once the risk of oxidation, coking and discolouration has been minimised.
4.0 What sort of sensor is used in the Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65?

5.0 How are even lower oxygen levels measured?
HFT® manufactures a 'Family' Range of Weld Purge Monitors® that are suitable to measure oxygen as low as 10 ppm.
6.0 My Company needs a Calibration Certificate once a year for all instruments. How do I obtain one?
The new Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 Weld Purge Monitor® has an auto push button self calibrating facility that calibrates the sensor at both atmospheric and minimum oxygen levels.
This feature allows the sensor to be highly accurately calibrated for each reading throughout the life of the sensor.
In the event that certification is nevertheless required, HFT® has calibration centres around the world.
For the fastest and most economic method to obtain a new certificate, please contact us or your local distributor.
7.0 I need to detect oxygen level in pipes pre-heated to 300ºC (575ºF). Can I use the Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 under these conditions?
The Argweld® PurgEye® 100 IP65 sensor should not be exposed to gas at a temperature above 50ºC (122ºF).
For higher temperature gasses, we can advise you about cooling methods so that measurements can be taken safely taken.
Please contact us for information about exhaust purge gas cooling methods.
8.0 Can Weld Purge Monitors® only be used when purging with argon?
The PurgEye® Weld Purge Monitors® measure the oxygen level within any gas, not only inert gases. They can be used to monitor the oxygen level when using inert gases such as argon and helium and also non-inert gases including nitrogen and nitrogen/hydrogen mixes.
