Designed and manufactured by Huntingdon Fusion Techniques, the PurgEye® 500 Weld Purge Monitor® has been specifically developed for critical joints.
This attractively priced instrument is ideally used for ultra critical or 'Golden' welds where oxygen levels need to be indicated to a very precise level as low as 1 ppm.
The PurgEye® 500 Weld Purge Monitor® is intended for use in the welding of titanium, other reactive alloys, as well as duplex and chrome steels and those high quality stainless steel welds.
In addition, the monitor is particularly suitable for welds in ultra clean conditions, such as in LNG, food, semi-conductor, pharmaceutical sectors and any other process industries.
The PurgEye® 500 Weld Purge Monitor® has an integral pump for applications where there is insufficient flow of exhaust gas.

The recording and auditing capabilities of the HFT Family of Weld Purge Monitors® are considered vital to the tube and pipe sector where traceability is now becoming a critical issue and Quality Management print outs are automatically available with PurgeLog™. The data connection cable is included.

1.0 What is the intended application for the PurgEye® 500 Weld Purge Monitor®?
In welding applications where there is insufficient flow of the exhausting weld purge gas, the PurgEye® 500 Weld Purge Monitor® with its integral pump will extract the weld purge gases and draw them across the measuring sensor.
Also, applications demanding extremely accurate readings from 1000 ppm down to 1 ppm, such as welds made in titanium, duplex, nickel alloys and high specification stainless steels.
2.0 What sort of sensor is used in the PurgEye® 500 Weld Purge Monitor®?
The PurgEye® 500 Weld Purge Monitor® uses a solid state sensor of a unique design. It is very much lower in cost than other measuring sensors and has an indefinite lifespan.
3.0 My Company needs a Calibration Certificate once a year for all instruments. How do I obtain one?
Huntingdon Fusion Techniques has a re-calibration facility. Return the instrument to us, we will recalibrate it and return it with a Certificate within a few days.
4.0 Why do I need software?
The software package is optional for those companies who may need to produce Quality Control documentation to show that the oxygen levels remained below the values required for the duration of the weld time.
The software allows the user to plot oxygen reading against time, save the information to hard drive and print the data as required.
5.0 Is the PurgEye® 500 Weld Purge Monitor® sensitive to electrical disturbances?
Each instrument has shielding to prevent most forms of interference.
Quality Control Test and Inspection criteria are designed to account for as many variables as possible
It is extremely rare that electrical interference will affect the monitor.
