The Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ has been designed and developed by Huntingdon Fusion Techniques as a complete kit.
Each kit is supplied ready for use containing 20 square meters (215 square feet) of Argweld® Weld Purge Film™, two bottles of Argweld® Water Soluble Super Adhesive™, a Safety Knife for cutting out the dams and a User Instruction Manual.

Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ can be used on stainless, duplex and chromium-molybdenum steels & titanium alloys.
The Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ allows dams to be cut easily with the safety knife provided and produce an impenetrable purge barrier which can easily be washed away during hydrostatic testing of the pipe or just by normal wash-out.
Ideally suitable for welding where it is not possible to retrieve the purge dam after the joint is complete.
Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge FilmThe Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ dissolves to molecular leaving no traces. There are no fibres as with paper products, to clog up filters or other sensitive parts in systems.
Trace element certification is available to show that Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ does not contain any harmful elements and that the quantity of Halides is well below the permissible levels, even for nuclear and aerospace applications. The film and adhesive are completely biodegradable and all packaging materials are recyclable.
Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ has superior strength in all directions and is difficult to be torn or damaged. This ensures that your purge dams maintain a good, impenetrable gas barrier throughout the purging process.

Technical Data and Specification
Each roll of Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ is 20 metres (24 yards) long and one metre (39 inches) wide, giving 20 square metres (215 square feet).
The width of the material is folded in half and wound on a cardboard spool.
When cut, it will provide two dams for diameters under 500 mm, at the same time, thus saving cutting time.
Inside the spool are two bottles of Argweld® Water Soluble Super Adhesive™ and a Safety Knife as well as the User Instructions.

Yes. There are no harmful ingredients which will affect the paper making process. Our chemical analysis report is available on request.
4.0 Can you tell me about the Halides in the film and their levels?
We can provide a Chemical Analysis document to show that the level of Halides in the Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ is lower than the minimum levels which cause concern in the welding of stainless steel in, for example, nuclear facilities.
5.0 How do I fix Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ inside pipes?
We supply Argweld® Water Soluble Super Adhesive™ and comprehensive instructions explaining how a purge film adhesive dries and fixes the purge film dam much better inside pipes.
We also have a video presentation to show how to prepare and use the film dams.
6.0 Is this Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ the same material as Dissolvo?
There are two products on the market place with the name of Dissolvo. One is a water dispersable paper. The other is a PVOH plastic film.
These products are not connected with Huntingdon Fusion Techniques or in our product range.
7.0 I have tried using paper dams and cones do not stick well inside pipes. Will the film work any better?
Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ Super Adhesive™ fixes the Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ dam very securely to the pipe wall and creates an impenetrable barrier until water arrives to wash it away.
8.0 Will Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ burn?
Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film does not ignite if the temperature becomes too hot.

10.0 How soluble are these purging materials?
The Argweld® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film™ dissolves completely down to the molecular level. Other water soluble products may only be water 'dispersible' as the wood fibers do not dissolve and leave residues which can clog filters.
