HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Test Plugs and Stoppers for pressure testing and plugging all pipes, pipelines and pipe work fabrications and any other orifices between 2 to 72" (50 to 1800 mm) diameter.
Available as single plugs and double versions for greater sealing and stability inside pipes.
These HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Drain Test Plugs are typically suitable for more arduous duties such as long immersion in water, for use at higher temperatures or for contact with acidic or alkaline environments for which the nylon, aluminium and inflatable plugs may be unsuitable.

Some Advantages and Key Features
The HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Test Plugs and Stoppers are easy to use.
The Steel Test Plugs and Stoppers are merely inserted into the pipe and the wing nut tightened to force the top and bottom plates together, thereby expanding the rubber ring to seal tightly in the pipe.
A patented friction-free washer allows for easy tightening of the wing nut.
Suitable for the more arduous tasks such as:
Contact with acidic or alkaline environments.
For long immersion in water.
Use at higher temperatures.
HFT Pipestoppers® Double Length Steel Plugs and Stoppers
A double seal will withstand slightly higher pressures and they will hold their seals longer than would be the case with single plugs.
The test pressure capability of the HFT Pipestoppers® Double Steel Testing Plugs increases, preventing tipping to guarantee the seal. They are more secure at the highest point of their pressure range and give more stability inside the pipework to prevent any tipping over like a butterfly valve, giving a greater guarantee of the seal.

HFT Pipestoppers® Aluminium Plugs Clamped for Pressure Testing
HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Test Plugs and Stoppers are manufactured with Outlets according to their diameters.
1/2" (12 mm) Outlet for plugs up to 6" (150 mm).
1.0" (25 mm) Outlet for diameters 8 to 18" (200 to 450 mm).
2.0" (50 mm) Outlet for 20" (500 mm) and greater diameters.
The standard seals are made from Natural rubber although specific synthetic seals are available for applications where greater chemical resistance and/or higher temperature operation is required.
Seal options are Silicone, Nitrile, Neoprene and Viton.
These HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Test Plugs and Stoppers can be used as Drain Test Plugs, Sewerage Test Plugs, Waste Test Plugs, Plumbing, Welding Purge Plugs and so many more applications.

1.0 Can the HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Drain Test Plugs be used as a permanent stopper in pipes?
HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Test Plugs can be used effectively as a permanent stopper. The wings can be cropped to prevent tampering if necessary.
2.0 Will HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Testing Plugs and Stoppers withstand attacks from various acids, alkalis and chemicals.
Technical data sheets about the chemical resistance of different materials is available on request.
3.0 What if HFT Pipestoppers® natural rubber rings deteriorate in the presence of my special chemicals, gases or fluids?
The standard sealing rings provided are manufactured from natural rubber. We manufacture and stock alternative rings made from nitrile, silicone and viton rubbers which will resist attack by many harmful products. Full details for chemical resistance of these materials is available on request.
4.0 What is the maximum working temperature for the HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Test Plugs?
The natural rubber rings can be used up to 80˚C (176˚F) in continuous use.
For higher temperatures, we manufacture rings made from silicone that can be used up to 300˚C (572˚F) and viton, which can be used up to 350˚C (662˚F).
Technical data sheets about the resistance of various rubbers to all temperatures and materials are available on request.
5.0 I have a hole to seal, where your plug won't quite seal well enough, but the next size up is too big. Do you have any in between sizes?
The user can extend the range of each plug by a few millimetres by using an exterior rubber seal on top of the ring provided.

6.0 Can I have the plugs made as a branded product?
Yes, we can supply the screw caps in your own house colours as well as black or white. Caps can be provided with your name, initials or logo on the cap.
7.0 What pressures can the HFT Pipestoppers® Steel Test Plugs withstand?

Plugs can be braced to assist in greater stability. Contact Huntingdon Fusion Techniques for details.
Note: For effective sealing, internal surfaces of cavities must be clean and dry.
Some smooth surfaces may not be effective and may need to be roughened.
Pressure ratings may be affected by poor, slippery or dirty surfaces.
